About Me

Hi. I'm Annie and all of this is about me and the random things that I find interesting. 

I am a writer, babbler, and music junkie. I am a crazy dual Pisces fish that watches far too much embarrassing TV and still believes that The Legend of Billie Jean is one of the best movies ever. I am a Midwesterner forever and one of those children of the 80's raised on Saturday morning cartoons, MTV with music videos, and Mikey commercials.

Sometimes, I write short stories. I paint, draw, and play guitar. The inappropriate cracks me up. I dig Halloween (especially making the costumes), upbeat macabre, musty old vinyl, dark rooms, the moon, meatless meals (I'm vegetarian), anything with sparkles, and vulnerable, emotional honesty.

I live for music. I was raised on 80's New Wave with healthy doses of The Smiths, The Cure, Depeche Mode, and Violent Femmes. In the 90's, I let my teen angst rock out in flannel and Docs to bands like Pearl Jam, Smashing Pumpkins, R.E.M., and Nirvana. As long as I can remember, I've felt like a lost flower child of 60's, completely in love with The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Who, Bob Dylan, and Simon & Garfunkel. I also get lost in the sounds of The Avett Brothers, Blind Pilot, and Amos Lee.
